About this race
The 14th edition of the Freshworks Chennai Marathon 2026, powered by Ashok Leyland and organised by Chennai Runners, is a road running event with 10K, 21K, 32K and 42K distances. The race begins at the iconic Napier Bridge, traces the Marina and heads south along the East Coast Road. The Half Marathon starts at Elliot's Beach. The event has a near-flat course and is officially certified by AIMS. The marathon course is 42.195 km, the half marathon is 21.0975 km, the Twenty Miler is 32.186 km and the 10K is officially measured. The event is recognised by Abbott World Marathon Majors for age-group rankings from the 2023 edition onwards. Participants receive a running bib with an electronic timing chip, race T-shirt, goodie bag, finisher's medal and breakfast. Race-day support includes baggage handling, on-course hydration and medical support. Limited transport buses are available for Half Marathon, Twenty Miler and Full Marathon finishers from Indian Maritime University, Uthandi.
